BUDERIM FAMILY KITCHEN
Simplified Hamptons Inspired
KITCHEN DESIGN SERVICES
PROJECT OVERVIEW
This family home in Buderim involved refurbishment of the kitchen, with the client’s brief of ‘simplified Hamptons’. The layout of half of the kitchen somewhat remained similar, making room for a new spectacular approach to a wide island bench. This bench became the feature, together with the new look cabinetry design and the colour palette. Both of which have transformed the space dramatically to achieve the fresh, grey-white Hamptons atmosphere. The existing sculptural bulkhead was also demolished to emphasize the high 3m ceilings, which helped with natural light filtering through the open planned Kitchen space. The selected white benchtop with soft grey veins provides the crisp contrast against the grey cabinetry, featuring shaker door panels and feature glazing bars. Lighting selection was also a key to this project where a mixture of recessed down light and strip lighting were specified to enhance open display shelving. The timber farmhouse shelving with back lighting illuminates the kitchen space adding warmth and texture. The textured timber elements included in the kitchen finishes selection inspired the design of a customised recycled dining table which completed the theme for the kitchen dining space.
This simplistic kitchen design communicates cohesively with the adjacent dining and living spaces where Hamptons inspired furniture and soft furnishings were selected. The neutral tones of grey and white used throughout the house again act as a supporting canvas for other fixtures and fabrics, which overall leads to a calm, and refined Hamptons style of the client’s preference.
